Fishing licence for Spain Balearic islands and Canary islands

This is a fishing licence / permit for Spain and also the Balearic & Canary islands. The licence is valid for the holder only. You can use it for recreational shore fishing throughout Spain and on all of the Balearic Islands (Mallorca, Ibiza, Formentera and Menorca) and also all the Canary Islands (La Palma, Gran Canaria, Tenerife, La Gomera, El Hierro, Fuerteventura and Lanzarote).

Can I also fish in marine protected areas?

Can I fish with two rods?

The fishing permit / licence will grant the holder the right to fish using a maximum of 2 rods – with a maximum of 3 hooks each. Keep in mind that a treble hook counts as three hooks.

Where is the Spanish fishing license valid?

This Spanish sea shore fishing licence / permit comes from the government of the Balearic Islands and will allow you to fish along the entire Spanish coast including the all the Canary islands (Tenerife, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, La Palma, La Gomera, El Hierro and La Graciosa) and the Balearic islands (Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera). It does NOT allow you to fish in lakes nor in rivers. The typical turnaround time to get your licence is 2 days. Want the fish licence / permit delivered within 24 hours? Minimal information required

For this fish permit / licence, we do not need a passport copy, only some personal information like your name, address, the passport or national ID number, your date of birth, phone number and email address.

How do I receive the fishing license

The fishing permit will be sent by e-mail as a PDF file in the Spanish language. If you desire, it can be delivered including a Dutch, English or German translation. You can choose this option during the order process.

What is the turnaround time for receiving the fishing license?

The typical turnaround time to get your licence is 1 to 2 days. Although we will do our utmost best to deliver the permit within the specified time, we are of course always dependent on the processing time at the governmental body that issues the licenses. In periods when it is busier than usual with regard to applications for fishing licenses, such as holiday seasons or when there is delay due to technical issues, it can happen that receiving the license takes longer than the indicated time on our website. IMPORTANT:

Please double check the passport/national ID number. If you send us the wrong digits, we can’t issue a refund, nor amend the error. The licence application procedure does not allow that unfortunately. Once we receive your details and payment, processing takes 2 days or less. You will receive the permit / licence by e-mail and all you have to do is print it out and go fishing. The licence is not for spear fishing.
